in Shakespeare's Villains
Synopsis
Once again Steven Berkoff holds the stage alone, this time with his exploration and analysis of "Shakespeares most villanous characters": Iago, the Macbeths, Shylock, Richard III...characters who are inherently evil, others whose situation leads them to evil deeds, others at the mercy of an evil society.

Incisive insights into the psyche give way to Shakespeare's own words which explode into the auditorium from one of the UK's most formidable and electrifying talents. Since its inception in 1998, Shakespeare's Villains has been performed in major European capitals, the Far East and South America. In the winter of 2001, the show played six weeks at The Public Theatre in NYC. Bruce Weber of the New York Times described his performance as "dynamic" and "forceful." The Village Voice called the show "a one-man tour de force" and "a whirlwind of Shakespearean brilliance." Shakespeare's Villains: A Masterclass in Evil is all this and more.
